PANDEMIC YEARS
The Arboretum
City Renewal Authority
2020 - 2021

Adaptablity was the key to Springtide's musical adventures during the pandemic years. After a year of lockdowns, we actually played a gig at the National Arboretum Christmas party at the end of 2020.

2021 bought new opportunities with the Canberra City Renewal Authority booking Springtide for outdoor gigs in Civic. We did regular Thursday Spots throughout the year with our musical colleague Sandy Gibbney who joined us when Rita had teaching engagements. These were highly enjoyable and it was great to be gigging again, and reaching out to audiences

POST PANDEMIC
Smiths Alternative / The Bunker
The National Folk Festival
2022 - 2023

Festivals returned in 2022 and we took time off from dance and session gigs at the 2023 NFF to busk in Central Park. It was wonderful to be sharing our music at our favourite festival on the most beautiful sunny Canberra morning.

We tried  a new approach in 2023 and opted for a Saturday morning "Brunch of Tunes" concert at our favourite Canberra venue, Smith's Alternative. It was very successful, one punter describing it as .."the perfect way to launch into the weekend". We also joined our friends The Turnips at The Bunker Queanbeyan.

A warm welcome from the East Coast Folk Club, Auckland kicked off our very first tour of New Zealand. Fabulous!

We soon headed to the beautiful Tuakau region to give two concerts in the stunning Nikau Cave Cafe

We warmed up for Folk Under the Mountain, Te Aroha with a House Concert in Waihi, and a pop-up gig at Kenwyn Rest Home, Te Aroha.

Springtide loved being part of Folk Under the Mountain in Te Aroha, a great little festival directed by Phil Garland . It was a busy schedule for the band with concerts, dances, and sessions over 3 days.

The rain did not daunt our enthusiastic audience at the Hamilton Acoustic Music Club (and we had a very cool stage set-up!)

One of our most successful concerts was the Pop-Up gig in New Plymouth. Enjoy the video of the house dog settling in for some Greek music!

Alistair's Music Shop in Wellington takes an active role in promoting fol events in Wellington. We went on down to Cuba Street and did a couple of promo videos to advertise our Acoustic Routes gig for facebook - this one reaching 3k hits!

A fitting end to the Springtide tour - returning to the Waikato and the beautiful arts space - Wallace Gallery Morrinsville

"The three Springtide performers are masters on their instruments, each taking their turn to wow us. There was humour and toe-tapping, beauty and tragedy. We were even treated to a song from Lord of the Rings."
Sue Rose - Acoustic Routes Folk Club, Wellington

"What a small group of really talented musicians, so versatile with the variety of instruments they play, and what a beautiful ancient instrument the dulcimer living up to its name ‘‘sweet melody’’ "
Sister Barbara Cameron - Wallace Gallery, Morrinsville

" Australian trio Springtide were popular guests at Folk Under The Mountain last weekend, playing to a good audience in Te Aroha Arts Centre on Saturday afternoon."
Teresa Ramsey..Waikato Times

Ichoyennisi regrets that due to Covid restrictions the GREEK CLASSICS in CONCERT scheduled for March has had to be postponed. Please check back later in the year for a possible new date. We look forward to presenting our beautiful Greek music for you in 2020 / 2021.
